The rack is made well and easy to use. We also purchased some crossbars for the kids's bikes in order to fit better. The placement of the lower feet of the rack is important. We put it on an unsupported part of the trunk and it dented our trunk door. It's something I didn't think about when setting it up. I wish the directions were more clear about warning against this. Now I have to get a body shop to fix the dent in my trunk.I have a small sedan. It was easy to hook up. there is really no where to put the straps, they just flap in the wind while driving. the bike front wheel had to be strapped because it bumps the car. Paint was taken off the trunk but I have an older car and car paint so will fix it. Overall, it allows me to transport my bike which I'm thankful. Just to go bike riding I have to drive 20 minutes away so I think it's worth it..but like I said I have an older car so it's okay if there are small dings made by it.I needed a bike rack for my Atlas that doesn’t need a tow hitch. Although the box indicates that the product is not a fit for VW Atlas, it fit pretty well on my car. Photos attached. I bought the 4-bike one and fit 3 bikes on it easily, the first time, and went for a short trip to a park within the city. Installation was straightforward too. Considering the price and quality, it is a solid product.I got the one for 4 bikes and I have a Hyundai Santa Fe. It works! The rack and bikes did not fall off and there wasn’t any damage to my vehicle after about 4 uses. I have never used a bike rack before. I had no idea what I was doing. It didn’t take me too long to figure it all out. It was pretty easy. I have 3 girl bikes and they all fit on without one of those additional pieces for the bars. I think for the price this is great. I’m not sure I would travel across the country with this rack, but for around town it is great.I’ve gone through a few strap bike racks and this one by far is the best. Easy to assemble. I carried 4 adult bikes 800 miles and they didn’t budge. Let’s say I was not doing the speed limit on I-95 as well. The rack is on the heavier side, but I’m sure it’s the reason for the sturdiness.Usually I am intimidated by so many moving parts but not this bike rack! It comes fabulously pre-assembled. It takes two people to install, don’t make the second person a moody preteen, there will be words! It only took 10 minutes to put on, make sure you are outside the garage though, it’s pretty high moving around until installed.I would give this bike rack a 4.5 out of 5 but since there are no half star rating, I'm bumping it up to a 5.Pros:- It comes pre-assembled so you can take it out of the box and install it and be on your way within 30 minutes. It does take some time to figure out where to place the bike rack, but once you've figured it out, its an easy 10-15 minutes to install and attach your bike. Pretty simple!- The product overall is well made - it's sturdy and it feels like it will last.- We were able to fit 4 bikes on the rack without any issues - 2 Fat Tire bikes and 2 mountain bikes - we rotated the handles so they bikes were able to be nestled together.- It is EASY to use - one person can install this without too much trouble & taking the bikes off the rack was a breeze (as far as putting the bikes on - see my comment in the Cons).- I didn't feel as if my jeep was weighted down with this bike rack - even with the weight of the rack and 4 bikes. I felt pretty comfortable driving with it - there was minimal swinging/creaking during our drive. We have yet to take it on a long road trip- You can use this rack on multiple vehicles so it's not restricted to just one car - this is a huge plus!Cons:- As others have stated the metal clips were concerning but I bought pads for $10 and although they weren't the best - they did protect my SUV. I'm going to try other hacks mentioned for the next trip.- You CANNOT open your trunk while this is in use, so if you need access to your trunk you will need to remove the rack and replace the rack- If mounting on an SUV (I have a Jeep Cherokee) it sits rather high so if you're small like me, you're lifting the bikes above your head to place it on the rack - I have a carbon fiber bike and it wasn't that bad, my boyfriend's bike however, i was unable to lift up without his help.Tip:- You still need to make sure you have additional bungees/zip cords to tie up the extra strap lengths so they aren't dragging on the ground and to secure your bikes together so they don't bounce into each other. We did forget to bungee the bikes after our last trail ride because we were in a hurry to get home and surprisingly the bikes were secure and did not bounce too much - but better safe than sorry, it'd be a shame to have your bikes rubbing on each other ruining the frame.- The bottom clips need to be inserted into the jam of the bottom of the trunk and that wasn't very clear - it made me nervous but once we figured it out, it was pretty simple and stayed secure.- Make sure you bring a lock and secure your bikes, it does not have a security feature included on the rack - we just used our regular locks and secured the bikes to each other AND the rack - so if someone really wanted our bikes, they'd either have to have the materials to cut through the locks or they'd have to try and steal the whole thing. For the price, the pros totally outweigh the cons. This bike rack is a great value and does the job well. Will take pictures to post the next time we use the rack.100% recommend this ! Drove from Minnesota to UP Michigan than UP Michigan to Minnesota (1200 miles total) with 3 adult bikes. No issues at all and very sturdy. I did put socks on the pedals so it didn’t scrape the paint on my car. It does rest on the glass, but I had no issues with this. For reference I have a 2022 Jeep CompassVery easy to install and secure.Product is great. I used it within the city with 3 bikes and held sturdy. Will be making a long trip camping via highways with 4 bikes this weekend, fingers crossed. The only issue I had was with a broken snap on foot, it arrived broken in pieces (as pictured). Amazon of course offered a return and re-purchase with a discount, but I needed the rack for this weekend, and I could not wait 5 days for delivery. They offered 15% off, which came to about $35 CAN. But it cost me $35 USD to get a replacement snap on foot. So I lose a little in the long run, but it seemed easier than having to re-pack and ship out the whole rack, and wait another week for a new one. Other than that experience, so far so good..... I've used it with 4 bikes on two long distance camping trips. Help up wonderfully. No complaints. I'd have give this 5 stars if it wasn't for the broken piece that cost me out of pocket to replace because of the hassles of returning via Amazon. First, be aware of the shipping cost. Huff!!! The product is solid; I already loaded and tested it with 4 bikes. I have a Dodge Caravan. I put some duct tape on the hooks that make contact with the car's paint and there were no paint issues with the car. It will interfere with the rear wiper (not a big deal). Easy to operate (snap-on) on assembly. Other considerations: Mind that your car will be longer and heavier. Drive carefully (90% off top speed limit) - do not make sudden movements. Some bumps on the road might create concern, but nothing actually happened. I also put a lock wire to the top rack of the van in case some one attemp to steal it. It is very easy to unhook from your car. Now, when try to fit the 4 bikes on it you might find easier trying to place in different directions (head to left, then, next bike head to right) but it differs on the type and height of your bikes...so have fun with it.Sadly this did not fit my Toyota Highlander as there is plastic above the top of the trunk. I did attempt to install on our secondary vehicle (Honda CRV) but the straps kept sliding. I took it to the bike shop to install correctly and I was advised that this was not a safe option and returned the item. I would assume it is better suited for a car than an SUV.
