I have had it now for 6 months and about 1500 miles of transporting two 60# e-bikes and am very pleased. I use the anti-rattle pin and it holds the rack solidly in place. I bought a cheap ratchet wrench and socket which I store with the rack and I use it to tighten the bolt. Honestly, though, it is only needed for the last turn or so as I can run the bolt in 90% with my fingers. Some have complained about mounting the 34# rack in the receiver but I have no problem. I just leave it in the “folded up” position, grab it by the wheel supports and lift. The receiver tube sticks out horizontally and can be easily slid into the receiver. Trying to attach it in the folded-down position makes it much more difficult. When I purchased the rack I was concerned about reports of the bike frame clamps slipping and working their way up and allowing the bike to fall off. To date, this has been a non-issue as I have not had any clamp slip. I do make sure they are firmly tightened. But just for insurance I drilled holes above the clamped position and insert a padlock (see photos). Not only does this work as a fail-safe if the clamps would slip but also provides a method to secure the bikes from possible theft. It would be great if the bar came predrilled with a series of holes so a lock could easily be added. Our e-bikes are the step-through type so we needed to add crossbars to each bike (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000ELSSZE) Normally these are used to hold the bike up but work just fine to hold it down. The racks hold down arms and then wraps over these rather than the frame.I will say loading 2 bikes requires some thought and experimentation to find the right positions and procedure. Because both frame hold downs are attached to the single pivoting arm things tend to get a little complex (hard to explain until you do it!). My answer was another minor modification. On the top side of the pivoting post there is a rivet inserted to prevent the arms from sliding completely off. I understand the idea but for me, it is a nuance. I simply drilled out the rivet and removed it.Now before I load the first bike I slide both arms completely off. With the pivoting arm setting flat, I position the first bike. I then move the pivoting arm up and slide the frame clamp down into position. The second bike is added and then the second frame clamp is added. When unloading the procedure is just reversed. It makes the process MUCH easier. But note – while removing the rivet makes absolutely no difference when the bikes are loaded, if no bikes are installed AND the rack is transported the clamps could work their way off and be lost. This can be prevented by just making sure the clamps are tightened as if they were holding the bikes.Another change I would like to see is to the anti-rattle bolt. If the end was not machined down as much it could accommodate a larger hole where the safety pin is inserted. Then a padlock could be installed in place of the pin allowing it to be locked to the vehicle.Still, I feel this is a nice bike rack for the price and I would not hesitate to buy it again if needed.I liked that the arm holds the bike tightly. The wheel and frame straps add another level of contact with the rack making sure the bike does not go anywhere. Tilt back feature works nicely and I can open the tailgate of my truck easily. Only drawback and this was just a choice on a bike for the wife. Her Gyroor C2 will not fit on the rack. Only has 14 inch wheels so I fold it up and it fits in the bed of the truck. Works great for my Ecotric Fat Tire 20. Overall very happy. Not hard to assemble. Very sturdy. Bikes ride without vibration. The hooks that slide down to hold the bike are a pain. The knob takes a lot of turning to get it to hold. That could be improved. I don't use the hitch pin system that came with it as it would be a real pain to use as you need a wrench to tighten. I bought a locking hitch pin instead. Also, if you have step through bikes you will need to purchase a crossbar like this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000ELSSZE?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details. Overall I like the rack and would buy again.Pretty easy to assemble. Both my bikes have fat tires and they fit great. The adjustable stability bars are perfect. Would recommend for sure ?If you get this, don’t plan on being able to quickly or easily remove the rack for a trip through the car wash. The manufacturer uses an anti wobble bracket that installs inside the tube that fits into the hitch receiver. The dimensions on the bracket are so sloppy that I had to disassemble the rack to be able to screw the anti-wobble bolt through the hitch receiver. Otherwise I had to overcome the weight of the rack to get the bolt started in the threads. It would be easier to do this if the top brackets that clamp on to the bike would actually grip the vertical bar they’re attached to but they don’t. No matter how hard I turn the handles they won’t support the weight of the partially disassembled rack. It is not designed to be used with standard hitch pins with anti theft locks. It’s heavy, difficult, and cumbersome to remove or reinstall. If you don’t care about that, it’s a good choice. Unfortunately, in my case I anticipated removing and replacing as needed. With this design that’s a major headache.Seems pretty sturdy. Bought it thinking I would be able to open the back hatch on my Jeep Wrangler, can't. Otherwise I'm happy with it.Overall this is a good bike rack. 4 instead of 5 stars because one of the wheel bases isnt straight and the strap they give you is barely long enough. They include a hitch tightener but I found that its not the easiest to use so I paid $15 for hefty haul hitch tightener. I also paid $8 for a 10' ratchet tie down to replace the included tie down strap. The wheel base isnt so far out of being straight as to be a problem with the integrity of the rack. So ill live with that. The center post is something you have to figure out how to work with when putting the bikes on the rack. I put my wifes smaller lighter ebike on the inside with the post in the down position and the hooks lowered then raised the post and adjusted the hook. I put the inside hook on top and the outside hook for my taller heavier ebike underneath. I read someone complain that the hooks loosen up. For me everything stayed just perfectly where they were tightened to. Drove 90 miles, 50 at 70-75 mph and 40 on a 2 lane road at 45-55. No problem. Everything was as tight and in place when I got to my destination as when I left.Easy to assemble the rack itself. We did have an issue with the bolt being stripped due to the awkward angle of getting the receiver into our hitch. Luckily our local Ace Hardware was able to rethread and get us on our way!Took the bikes out today for the first time. The rack is great! Very sturdy and put together well! So many straps and things that add extra security for our bikes.(Our bikes are E-Bikes and weigh 48 lbs each).Definitely recommend.
