It all began with a small sticker and slow leak. So this may be easy for some, but as a retired senior it was hard. Worked my way thru a 20"X4" front wheel just fine as I learned the nuances of this liner and tube combo. After the rear wheel was complete, at about 5 psi, a pinhole appeared on the folded crease of the tube. NOW IT GETS HARD. With the added liner it is next to impossible to get the beads in the center to remove the tires. I ended up using 6 welding vice grips (softly) to squeeze the beads together to get enough slack to pry the first bead off (PITA). I successfully patched the hole and replaced the tube. This time on air up at about 5.5 psi the patch held but the folded crease blew out for about 16" starting at the edge of the patch (picture). AGAIN WITH THE VICE GRIPS. I removed the "new but blown out" 2.5"-3" tube and replaced it with the remaining 4" tube (used). So far its holding but the effort was far too great. When the rain lets up I may add to this review.Ordered two sets in 20x4 size. First set came with no-name tubes in 20x2.5-2.9, second set came with boxed Black Cat tubes in 20x3.0. One of the no-name tubes had a leak under pressure, so I've had to redo the mounting. Don't expect your local bike shop to carry unusual tube sizes either. If you want to play a lottery to get whatever tubes were at the bottom of the barrel when they've packed the bundles, go ahead. Otherwise I would order tubes separately from liners to get more consistent product. No opinion on performance of liners yet - have not used them long enough. Watch the video for installation, it is not as easy as replacing the tube.Installed these on my Ebike for hunting. I often ride on rough terrain and through thick grasses and weed fields off the beaten path. I've had no flats with these installed, and do NOT have slime in my tires. They install easy, so long as you follow the instructions and get the proper size.NOTE: If you feel like they are hard to install, contact Tannus directly and have them look up your batch code. My first set seemed too small, and I found out they were part of a recently found batch of defective inserts. Tannus sent me some new inserts overnight and they fit so much better. These are easy to install, and with the tubes included it made it easy to purchase. I swapped these in as my previous tubes went flat due to riding through blackberry. I can attest that they work as I went on one ride through thick black berry with the rear installed and the front without. After that ride the front went flat while the rear stayed inflated. The only improvement I would make is to have the tubes allow for valve removable option for purchase. So far so good. The tubes have a short valve stem, not so good for MTB rims.My mountain bike takes 39 X 3.25 inch tires, and installing these inserts was not difficult -- however, I ordered tubes as well as inserts, and the tubes were 39 X 1.75 inches, which made things easier. Using full-sized tubes, especially the bulkier "thornless" tubes, might make installation tougher. And I can see where skinny-tire rims would be more difficult as well. But I had a pretty good installation experience. Now, the bad: I got a flat first time out with the inserts. The culprit was a 3/8 inch mesquite thorn which went right through the tire and insert both. As advertised, the bike was rideable even with the tube deflated, so I didn't do a field repair... but I was not a happy biker. The insert did handle goatshead thorns, which are the most common hazard on the dirt roads where I live, so that's a good thing. But darn the mesquite. They were a little difficult to install but now that they are in, I haven't had any flats for the last several months. Before, I would get a flat about once of month or more. Initially, I felt like it made my ride feel stiffer but now that they are broken in, it feels almost cushioned. I didn't notice any weight difference but I am using an ebike.I feel like they are a bit expensive but not having to repair tire flats has been worth it. I would recommend it if you can afford it.These liners are easy to install with a little effort and elbow. I slicked them and the tube with some baby powder. It definitely helps to make sure your wheel is true before starting. Take it a bike shop and get it done. When riding it feels no different to me than having normal tubes which is a good thing. I also put brand new tires on when installing the liners. So this was a big upgrade.I hope to never have to update this review reporting a flat. For the price I paid for a pair of liners and tubes, I should never get a flat unless it’s an extreme case. The liners do ship with tubes smaller than the tire. For example I bought 26x4 liners and they sent 26x3 tubes. I asked the seller if that was correct and they quickly responded yes. I installed them and they worked perfectly.Smooth ride, hope the investment pays off! Satisfaction.
