I've used two of these now on aging frames where the BB has been pressed a few times. They do work. I suspect that Wheels is trying to cover quite a few design variations, and that leads me to only give 3 stars. In both of my cases the old BB had to be driven out, so despite the creaking the bracket was not way too loose. But the thread in shells aren't quite big enough. Despite the fact that the directions state to press in one side, both sides drop in without pressing. The threaded section still saves the day as long as it is very tight. And that leads to the last concern. The area for the BB wrench is VERY narrow. You can tighten these up good, but it is a struggle. Because both sides spin (again despite the directions that state one side should press in) you have to hold two wrenches perfectly to get the thing tight.If they made one with a bit wider wrench notches that installed like the detailed directions stated, it would be 5 stars.
